St Lawrence’s Centre is an ideal venue for Quiet Days and Retreats – a perfect place for groups or individuals to reflect, refresh and renew.

The medieval church has a calm and serene atmosphere and is much loved by those wishing to meditate or spend time in peaceful contemplation.

The Centre also has a beautiful outdoor space called the Sacristan’s Garden set among the ruins of the original nave and tower. The garden is filled with a wide variety of sensory plants and is perfect for moments of quiet reflection.

A recent user was full of enthusiasm after the Quiet Day she had arranged at St Lawrence’s and booked a further three days for her parishes.

“It was warm and welcoming,” she said. “The Group enjoyed the excellent acoustics for their singing accompanied by the beautiful piano.”

Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits can be provided at an extra cost of £1 per head. The Tearoom at Fairhaven Gardens can provide a light lunch e.g. sandwiches, sausage rolls and cake. This would need to be ordered in advance by contacting Alexandra on 01603 270205. Any orders would need to be collected at a time to be arranged.

Bookings for the centre cost £40 for 10am-4pm with a further £10 charge for the use of the grand piano.
